Our client is looking for a professional Part-Time, Friday - Saturday Porter to work in a Resdiential development in North West London.
Working Hours: Fridays (8am - 6pm), Saturdays (8:30am - 1:30pm)
Salary: £12,870pa (£16.50per hour)
Duties:
- Emergency Procedures - Ascertain the type of emergency and call the necessary emergency services/contractors and inform the head porter/managing agent immediately.
- Security - Prevent any unauthorised entries, suspected loitering. Deal with visitors to the building and ensure that all other porters are aware of all entries. Ensure that keys held at reception are given to authorised persons only.
- Care of the Building - Ensure that any works taking place in the building are authorised. Protect the building during works being carried out. Notify the Head Porter of any works that need to be carried out in the building. You will need to notify the Head Porter/management office of any unauthorised subletting in the building.
- Dealing with Tenants - Deal with residents' complaints, any disturbances by tenants or tenants contravening the terms of the lease and report to the Head Porter/managing agents. Give assistance to tenants where necessary.
- Health and Safety at work - You will be supplied with a Health and Safety Manual which you need to comply with at all times.
- Be present at the Porters' Desk at all times, other than on breaks or when attending to emergencies
- Answer the telephone.
Requirements:
- Communication is fundamental to this role: the Porter is expected to communicate properly with residents, leaseholders, contractors, service providers, the local Council and the Managing Agents.
- Unless undertaking maintenance work, the Porter must be smartly dressed at all times.
- Previous experience in Porter services, customer service, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Having to work over-time covering other staff members holidays/sickness.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and skilled at problem solving.
- Ability to work proactively and independently on own initiative.
- Proficiency in using computer / office equipment and computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain a calm and composed demeanour.
- Understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
